Why So Serious?: The Role of Memes in Spreading Hate
This speech counters the question of haters on the Internet that use humor to spread hate, explaining how hateful memes impact the real world.
My Story
I am Joan Lee from South Korea, currently(2023 Feb) a junior in Seoul Global High School. During high school, I discovered that I enjoy expressing my thoughts in front of people. After that realization, I began participating in various events that allowed me to share my opinions with others. I value freedom, equality, and diversity. I plan to study cultural anthropology and learn more about the fascinating world we live in. Understanding the diverse aspects of the world and protecting that diversity is my goal in life, and I am willing to keep on studying in order to achieve this goal. I am passionate about music, guitar, fashion, art, comics, films, love, reading and writing essays, making a speech and more. The interaction between people on the Internet is of my interest now. 🌈
